I’ve always heard good things about La Taqueria. They offer fantastically authentic Mexican Tacos in two locations: Cambie and Hastings. The Hastings locations is pretty close to where I work/go to class, so I’ve dropped by a few times for dinner and lunch.
They have a wide variety of taco options! From meat to vegetarian, just about every single one is good. They serve up individual tacos for $2.50 and a set of 4 for $9.50.
During one of the days I had class, I had ordered a couple of tacos for a light dinner.
The Carnitas taco is a pork confit with pickled red onion. The Res En Casabel was the special at the time, which was a free range beef in cascabel chili sauce. I often enjoy adding some of their homemade salsa on top as well – care with the habanero sauce though, it’s crazy hot!
More recently I went with my coworker JW after checking out Meat & Bread to get some snack tacos. Yep, we’re pigs!
We ordered four tacos so that we each could have two. JW orderd the Asada and Chorizo Special. The Asada is a grilled AAA flank steak and the Chorizo special had chorizo and free range pork. I had the Chorizo special and the Tinga De Pollo, which had chicken with chorizo and Mexican cheese + sour cream on top.
I love the tacos at La Taqueria, and if you love Mexican food/Tacos, you should definitely check them out!
